“Many Hands Make Lite Work”
– John Heywood
Here at SDOHS, it takes a large village to help support our marching band show. Help is needed in a variety of roles that vary from, sound crew to water crew to chaperoning, photography, and pit crew.
There is a job and place for everyone! You have a little time or tons of time, we will take it! You can be only at one or a couple events or at all of them, we will use you! If you’re a parent/guardian of a returning or incoming band student, we ask that you get involved. It’s a great way to stay close and connected to your teens without them complaining too much!
Requirements to help:
1. Complete DVUSD Volunteer Training. This has to be done at some point in your child’s school career. If not, join un Monday, May 9th in the SDOHS Library/Media Center.
2. All volunteers must obtain an IVP/DPS Fingerprint card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety. The District Office will no longer be providing scheduled appointments for this service. It is at your own expense and will take some time to get your card, please don’t wait to get this done. We will be providing a volunteer training class and have mobile fingerprinting on Monday, May 9th @ 6pm in the SDOHS Library/Media Center.
3. Meals Committee: If you would like to help feed the students, you must obtain a Food Handler’s Card www.azfoodhandlers.com (costs less than $10 and is good for 3 years). Once you pass the class, please send a copy of your certificate to PaulineBrown@ firstname.lastname@example.org.
