May Music Camp

New to Sandra Day O’Connor High School Band is our May Music Camp! The purpose behind this camp is to give the future Marching Band students the opportunity to drum up (pun intended!) some excitement for the 2019 Fall Show! The students will spend three afternoons together preparing the first 2 movements of the show for a special parent, alumni, staff, and community premiere.

Our future freshmen will also join us for this special 3-day event and have received the important information. Please plan to join us for our Fall Show Premiere on Friday, May 17th at 7:00pm in the OC Main Gymnasium! And bring with you an appetite as we will have different food trucks on site to help serve you delicious treats! Please bring $10.00 per person if you would like to eat from the food trucks.
Kona Ice will also be at the event, so be sure to bring the entire family!

  • May 11 8th Grade Auditions Day 1 – 11:00am-1:00pm – select 2019-2020 Band Leaders must attend
  • May 15 May Music Camp – 4:00-6:00pm – all 9-11th returning band members must attend
  • May 16 May Music Camp – 4:00-6:00pm – all 9-11th returning band members must attend
  • May 17 May Music Camp – 4:00-6:00pm – all 9-11th returning band members must attend
  • May 17 Registration Night – 6:00-7:00pm –  this is the final night of the May Music Camp. Parents must attend to take care of the first payment for the Fair Share. 
  • May 17 2019 Fall Show Premiere – 7:00-7:45pm
  • May 18 8th Grade Auditions Day 2 – 11:00am-1:00pm – select 2019-2020 Band Leaders must attend

2019 SUMMER BAND TENTATIVE DATES INFORMATION

All Summer Band rehearsals are scheduled to take place at SDOHS.

If your child plans to participate in Marching Band for the 2019 season, they must attend Summer Band, no exceptions. Summer Band tentative dates:

July 22nd, 23rd and 24th:
12:00-4:30pm Indoor music and movement rehearsals
4:30-5:30pm Dinner – students will be fed at SDOHS by boosters
5:30-9:00pm Outdoor rehearsal

July 25th:
12:00-4:30pm Indoor music and movement rehearsals
5:00pm NEW** – Full Band Pool Party – exact location TBD

July 28th, 29th, 30th:
12:00-4:30pm Indoor music and movement rehearsals
4:30-5:30pm Dinner – students will be fed at SDOHS by boosters
5:30-9:00pm Outdoor rehearsal

August 1st:
12:00-4:30pm Indoor music and movement rehearsals
5:00pm Depart for Band Retreat @ Camp Pinerock

August 1st, 2nd 3rd:
All Day NEW**- Overnight Band Retreat* – return to OC by 2:30-3:00pm Saturday, August 3rd

*The Overnight Band Retreat is optional – but we highly encourage you to go!
*Cost for the Band Retreat is $150.00, and the payment is due in full by June 21st
